Summer is moving quickly. The kids are off to school in the next week or two (locally) and the ones up north in a few weeks. If you have family or friends visiting or if you just want to get some sand between your toes we wanted to encourage you to go and enjoy! What is the saying, Carpe Diem!
My favorite is Caladesi Island State Park. Located in Dunedin, FL, only about 95 miles and about 2 hours south-east of The Villages, this park offers two beach options. The first is at the tip of the park and the second is via ferry (only about 20 minutes but well worth it). Not a building in sight but you should know you can only stay on the island for a few hours as they only allow a certain number of people at a time. You can also rent a chair and umbrella! You almost have the beach to yourself. More info…
Next on our list, a little further south is St. Petersburg. Lido beach is fantastic. There are nice hotels, great sand and for the evening Armands Circle (a plethora of stores, restaurants and bars). Click the link to learn more about the areas beaches, entertainment and hotels – Here
There is nothing like some beach time!
